Hana van der Kolk is a dancer, artist, educator, organizer of community events, Internal Family Systems counselor, and transformational sexuality coach based in Troy. Hana teaches dance/movement/stretch/yoga classes under the name radial diamond kinetics, offers one-on-one sessions, and performs locally and internationally. Hana also maintains a dedicated mediation practice in the Insight Meditation tradition, which deeply informs their teaching. Hana brings a playfulness to their classes, inviting students to become curious about and radically alive in their embodied experiences. They trust in this curiosity as a fundamentally rich method for personal and collective healing and community-building. Some of Hana's most influential teachers have been Erich Schiffman, Deborah Hay, d. Sabela grimes, and Pascal Auclair.
RYT 200 Certified Yoga Instructor
It was love at first namaste when I found a spiritual & physical discipline like yoga that integrated heart, soul, mind & strength. I discovered yoga after injury in college as a Division 1 athlete and then rediscovered it several years later after going through a major family loss. The twists and turns of life and God's amazing grace, brought me to a ministry called Holy Yoga, where I became a 225-hour Yoga Alliance certified instrutor. As a yoga teacher, I hope to create space in a yoga practice for students to commune with the living God and find refuge from their stressful lives; to align and strengthen the physical body; to undue old & negative thought-patterns; to nurture authentic community, and to support causes that serve a broken and hurting world. And as an auntie, daughter, sister and friend, I'm committed to thriving and not just surviving; to doing my best and asking often for mercy, grace and forgiveness on the days when I come up short. I believe God is interested in the totality of our being. We are called to be light in a dark world and salt-seasoning, bringing out God-flavors on earth (Matt. 5:13-16). Join me for class to brighten and season - all seekers welcome!
